Police responded to a report that Zaeyana was having trouble breathing, but she was dead when officers and rescuers arrived. Driggs said she was standing in the bathroom when Threats walked into the room holding Zaeyana under his arms, away from his body and then set Zaeyana on the floor on her back. “I thought she had dirt on her face,” Driggs said “I tried to wipe it off her face but she was cold.” That “dirt” turned out to be bruising, she said. Driggs said she told the girl’s father to call 911 and they both tried to revive the child using CPR. An autopsy showed that Zaeyana had died from blunt force trauma to her abdomen. The report also showed the child had an old fracture to a rib, bruises and gastrointestinal injuries.

 

About five months before Zaeyana’s death CPS became involved with the family when Zaeynana’s baby brother tested positive for marijuana at birth. Zaeyana’s mom canceled several counseling sessions and had minimal participation in the ones she did attend. Four months later, a personal protection order was filed against Zaeyana’s dad by her mom. In it, she wrote that she was scared Threats would end up killing her or hurting the children, but she continued to live with him.

 

Driggs has not been charged with any crime. Deshawn Threats had nothing to say as he was sentenced to life for the beating his two year old daughter Zaeyana death, but he smiled and shook his head as the dead Driggs called him a monster and sociopath.
