Abuse Angels
Commited to the end of child abuse. . .
Steven Quinn
Randy Liebich lived with Kenyatta Brown, their daughter, Angelique, and Brown's son, Steven Quinn Jr. On February 8, 2002 Brown returned to work after giving birth two weeks earlier. She left Liebich alone with both children for the first time. When Brown returned from work, she found Steven slumped against a wall, semiconscious.
Steven was taken to the hospital, where emergency room doctors immediately suspected child abuse. Despite emergency brain surgery, Steven died several days later. Steven tiny body had more than 40 bruises, numerous serious internal injuries and fatal head trauma.
Liebich, said "I'm not perfect, but I'm not the monster Kenyatta makes me out to be. She is an excellent liar." Liebich was sentenced to 65 years in prison. Public Defenders Ricky Holman and John Casey argued at the trial that Brown, who abused drugs and was seen physically punishing the child, probably caused the injuries. Holman asked for a 25 year sentence, still arguing that Brown was responsible for her son's death and noting that Angelique remains in foster care.
