Helpless baby Paris was not destined for a long life. In fact, Paris did not even enjoy a full month of life. She lived with her mother, father and siblings at the time of her death. Paris’ mother China Arnold had with her boyfriend Terrell Talley had an argument over if he was the biological father of her or not. Terrell denied Paris was his and so denied any responsibility as the father. DNA tests later showed Terrell Talley was Paris’ father.  Terrell confessed he’d had sex with a neighbor lady. This made China murderously angry, which led her to make the decision to put her 28 day infant daughter into the microwave and cook her to death. Paris was not taken to the hospital until the next day. Paris had no vital signs. The emergency room staff tried to revive the burnt baby but it was far too late. It is suspected Paris was in the microwave longer than 2 minutes and died shortly after removal. Her internal organs to reach critical temperatures of 107 to 108 degrees Fahrenheit.

China denied over and over that she had hurt Paris in any way. Arnold was arrested initially, then released due to lack of evidence. She was re-arrested in November 2006 and stood her first trial for aggravated murder. That’s right, her first trial China would get three trials for what she did to Paris. Trial number one led to a mistrial. Terrell Talley’s son from a previous relationship was brought in as a surprise witness. The little boy testified he’d seen a ‘neighborhood boy’ put the baby into the microwave, and he himself had taken baby Paris out of the microwave. Trial number two prosecution established that Terrell Talley’s son had not even been in the area so he could not have witnessed anything to do with Paris’ murder. At the end of trial two China Arnold was convicted of aggravated murder and sentenced to life in prison. However, that ruling would be over turned by the 2nd District Ohio Court Of Appeals in Dayton who ruled that China should go free. Apparently, the ruling was overturned due to allegations of Prosecution misconduct including claims that they hid witnesses, ignored court orders and subverted the judicial process resulted in a mistrial. In May 2011, China Arnold went to trial for the third and hopefully last time. The jury found China Arnold guilty of aggravated murder. Sentencing was delayed to allow for a mental exam to be conducted. Two psychologists determined that China Arnold had an average IQ and no significant mental illness. Arnold was sentenced to life in prison.
