Spencer Jordan and Marie Magoon stopped cooperating with police since they first called paramedics to report that Meika Joradn had been critically injured.  They claimed that  Meika fell down a flight of stairs at their home. They blame the burns on her hand on an accidental encounter with a hair straightener. Meika was beaten in the chest and abdomen she suffered third degree burns to her palm and fingers. She sustained several of her injuries prior to the beating that killed her. Investigators have also determined that Meika could not have sustained either the blunt force trauma or the burns in the ways that her father and step-mother described. Meika dies November 14, 2011 while holding her biological mother's hand.

 

Spencer Jordan and his wife Marie Magoon were arrested after investigators found that Meika Jordan died of blunt force trauma. Both were charged with first degree murder, but Jordan argued for his charge to be reduced. A judge ruled that the original charge will stand. Both accused will stand trial by judge alone on March 2015.
