Lucy Rose Clark

Two year old Lucy was found lifeless in her family’s home on March 15, 2012. She died that same night at a hospital. Officers were called to the home to assist EMS, they “began investigating the circumstances” of how Lucy received her injuries. The autopsy results have been ordered sealed by the court and remain sealed. Clark said he did not do anything to cause his child to die. He said he called for help and his daughter died at a hospital. Clark said that he and Hendley are not responsible for their daughter’s death. Nichole Lee, Lucy's grandmother, said her son told her he was home with the children when Lucy fell off a bed. Clark and Hendley have another daughter four year old Dixie Clark who is was put into custody of a foster family. Both Clark and Hendley were charged with abusing Dixie as well. It took police eleven months to charge and arrest Lucy's parents. The couple was officially charged with one count of first degree murder and two counts of felony child abuse. "Some cases are complex and we have to make sure we are thorough in our investigation," said Capt. Joseph Cooke of the investigation division of the Mooresville Police Department. "This case we were just waiting for, making sure all of our evidence was in, all of our results were back before we present our case to the district attorney and went forward with our charges."

I could not currently find any additional information on Lucy’s story or any sentencing information.
