Grace lived in Lamar Colorado with her brother, dad and mother. She was four years old when her mother Rebekah Amaya drown Grace and her younger brother after saying a spider had told her to do so. Sadly there is more known about Grace's killer than Grace and her brother Gabriel.

 

Amaya was charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of four year old Grace Headlee, and five month old Gabriel Amaya. Amaya pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Amaya, told investigators she drowned her two children after receiving a sign from a spider. She was ordered to be committed to the state mental hospital for an indeterminate period. The psychiatrists said Amaya said she thought there were evil spirits in the house and in her children and that killing them would set them free.
