Gabriel lived in Lamar Colorado with his sister, dad and mother. He was five months old when his mother Rebekah Amaya drown Gabriel and his older sister after saying a spider had told her to do so. Sadly there is more known about Gabriel's killer than Gabriel and his sister Grace.

 

Amaya was charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of five month old Gabriel Amaya and four year old Grace Headlee. Amaya pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Amaya, told investigators she drowned her two children after receiving a sign from a spider. She was ordered to be committed to the state mental hospital for an indeterminate period. The psychiatrists said Amaya said she thought there were evil spirits in the house and in her children and that killing them would set them free.
