Daelynn Foreman

Twelve year old Daelynn Foreman slowly diminished to 23 pounds and starved to death. At age nine Daelynn, who had cerebral palsy, weighed 60 pounds. By age ten she had dropped to 46 pounds, and then to half that weight by the time of her death. Daelynn was morbidly thin. Her facial skeletal features, ribs, limb bones and ligaments were clearly outlined under her skin.

Over the last 15 months of her life, there were indications that Daelynn, was not receiving medical care and was dangerously thin but child protection officials took little action to save her. Child Protective Services officials had received seven reports warning that she was either severely or generally neglected. A Sacramento CPS worker visited the family about ten weeks before Daelynn, was found dead with open sores so deep they exposed her bones. One hole with exposed bone was about one inch wide. However, Daelynn was never removed from the care of her mother.

In the final months of Daelynn's life, she lay immobile in her bedroom, in her own urine and feces. During the last month of her life, Daelynn was starved and neglected, she was found dead on July 31 in her bed, wearing pink pajamas with black and white sheep. Daelynn's own mother was to blame for her daughter being so thin and dying. Maybe it was the meth Brandy Foreman, after all, had been smoking about half a gram of crank every day for nearly two months court record show. Brandy Foreman was charged with homicide, neglect and methamphetamine sales. She was sentenced to 25 year to life
