Abuse Angels
Commited to the end of child abuse. . .
Caleb Pacheco
Child-protection workers knew Caleb Pacheco’s family was looking for him. They knew that Juanita Kinzie, the little boy’s mother and the last person believed to be caring for him, had a history of drug abuse, erratic behavior and a habit of dating abusive men. Still, two year old Caleb would remain unaccounted for while his body spent months decomposing under a Sterling mobile home.
On January 25th Kinzie was the subject of a disturbance call, and she was plenty disturbed due to what authorities suspected was meth usage. At that time, she told officers her son was dead. Her statement led to the search of a trailer where Kinzie had lived for about six months.
Over the summer there were complaints about a foul stench emanating from the home. Authorities soon discovered its source, it was the decomposing body of Kinzie’s son Caleb. His body was wrapped in a blanket and a plastic bag. A one page autopsy report said the cause of death was “unable to be determined.” Little Caleb’s remains were skeletonized by the time he was found.
Kinzie was taken into custody on suspicion of first degree murder. She pleaded guilty to one count of second degree murder and one count of child abuse resulting in death. She was sentenced to 32 years in prison.
