Brooklyn Koy Saechao
Brooklyn Saechao was born on July 26, 2010 to Sarn and Jamie Saechao. Her mother began dating a man named Jeffrey E. Locker. On August 2, 2010, her mother decided to leave Brooklyn in the care of Jeffrey while she went to work. Later that day he called 911 saying Brooklyn had fallen and smacked her head on an object in the house. Paramedics found Brooklyn unconscious, she was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with severe head injuries. Jeffrey claimed that Brooklyn had fallen in the bathtub on her own however, Medical Examiner Dr. Karen Gunson said Brooklyn’s injuries were inconsistent with Locker’s version of events.
Two days after being brought to the hospital, Brooklyn died. Dr. Gunson said the child died of blunt force head trauma, and that she suffered subdural hematomas, brain swelling and optic nerve hemorraging. Police discovered that Locker had left town. He was found near Milton-Freewater, headed north toward Washington. Jeffrey Locker was sentenced to 18 years in prison for manslaughter.
