Some people just aren't cut out to be parents. Brittany Wiest is one of those people. She was far too preoccupied with other things. Brittany's Facebook page is full of "selfie" pictures of her trying to look sexy. She neglected her children, ignoring their most basic needs while she attended to her own needs and interests. Maybe if she had been as focused on being a mother as she was on her looks and making sure she presented herself to the world, Anakin might be alive today.

 

Brittany's two year old daughter Autumn was in the home when Anakin was found dead. Wiest's boyfriend at the time Michael Withers called 911 after he and Wiest woke to find Anakin unresponsive. During the 911 call, Brittany can be heard crying as the 911 operator begins to question Michael. When police arrived emaciated Anakin was dead. Anakin had been found with his ribs showing and his intestines had nothing in them, he had not been fed at all that day.  Anakin had weighed just under six pounds at birth. At 59 days old he weighed five pounds. An autopsy, conducted months later determined Anakin died of starvation and dehydration. Tragically, death by starvation and dehydration is particularly inhumane because it is a slow and agonizing process.

 

Stripper Brittany Wiest was 24 weeks pregnant with her third child. Wiest has been charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated child neglect and murder. Wiest has previously had run ins with the Department of Children’s Services over neglect concerning her two year old daughter who is now in state custody. Her daughter and Anakin were born to different fathers, as is the baby girl she is currently expecting.
