Blaine Milam a 19 year old unregistered sex offender was not supposed to be around any children who
were not his own biological children or his siblings. Blaine had never registered as a sex offender like he was supposed to and Jesseca Carson allowed him to be around her thirteen month old daughter Amora. On December 2, 2008 a 911 call was made “My name is Blaine Milam, and my daughter, I just found her dead." Jesseca Carson were kneeling on the floor. They found Amora, not in her crib, but in a hole in the floor in the bathroom that he was remodeling. Amora was laying on her back on the floor not moving, not breathing, bruised.

 

In the last hours of thirteen month old Amora’s life, she endured inexplicable pain from 24 human bites, multiple fractures to her ribs and numerous abrasions to her entire face. Her mother Jesseca Carson and her boyfriend Blaine Milam both told detectives multiple stories of how Amora suffered the injuries, including a fabricated auto accident and then a story of how Amora was attacked by the family’s dogs. The couple then told investigators they had left the child unattended and someone else must have gone into the home and harmed the child. Carson and Milam even said Amora beat herself in the head with the hammer. Eventually, Carson and Milam told police they had beaten Amora to death in an attempt to rid the child of demons.

 

Amora had 24 human bite marks were all over her body, from head to toe and front to back. The marks were consistent with a human tooth tearing the skin. A forensic dentist confirmed the bites as human. She also suffered 18 rib fractures, extensive bleeding under her scalp, multiple fractures on the back of her head, a lacerated liver, a broken arm and leg and a bleeding blood vessel in her neck, which suggested possible strangulation. The autopsy also revealed Amora had been sexually assaulted. Her genitalia and rectum were badly bruised, that penetration was most likely caused by an object

 

Blaine Keith Milam is on death row awaiting a lethal injection following his 2010 guilty verdict for capital murder.  Jessica Bain Carson was found guilty of capital murder in April 2011 and sentenced to life without parole.
