On March 17, 2009, Rohnisha Carter Amir's mother was ready to start her new job, she would be leaving four month old Amir with his father Gregory Henderson. Amir was hospitalized with serious injuries, and died on September 25, 2011 as a result. Gregory beat Amir so badly that his skull was fractured and he had bleeding on the brain as well as broken ribs and he ended up in a coma.

 

Gregory had either shaken Amir violently or he had thrown him against something and that is how he caused Amir’s injuries. Gregory plead guilty and was sentenced to six years. Instead of standing up for her son, who had been beaten and suffered horribly because of this man, Rohnisha stood up for Gregory.
