Abuse Angels
Commited to the end of child abuse. . .
Alize Vick
Both of Alize's parent were incarcerated. Her father had a history that included a domestic assault arrest and her mother was a methamphetamine addict. Upon the incarceration of her parents, Alize Vick went to live with foster mother or foster murderer Jules Lynn Cuneo. During the time that Cuneo had Alize and her brother in her care she was reported to CPS multiple times for abuse and neglect. A CPS worker noted cuts and bruises on Vick's body, a neighbor reported that Cuneo was verbally unrelenting and abusive. She had also captured Vick begging her 300lb foster mother to not sit on because she was unable to breathe. Vick's grandmother had also reported that her granddaughter had a fat lip, black eye, a broken tooth and various other bruises. Despite all of these reports poor little Alize was left in Cuneo’s care.
Cuneo filed reports with Kids Crossing, the private agency that licensed and supervised Cuneo stating that Alize was extremely accident prone during the seven months she had been living with Cuneo. Alize suffered a “bump” and a “fall” in a bathtub that bruised her lip and required a trip to the hospital. She fell again in the tub and broke a tooth, according to the reports Cuneo filed. But through a baby monitor a neighbor could hear what was really going on inside the house and began recording what prosecutors later described as the ongoing torture and abuse of Alize by Cuneo. The neighbor sent a letter to the El Paso County Department of Human Services and eventually provided an audiocassette of recording taken from the baby monitor of 300 pound Cuneo sitting on 30 pound Alize as she screamed. Cuneo could be heard on these recording mocking Aliza for failing to form the proper words to tell her to get off. Unfortunately, for Aliza the recording wouldn’t be enough. Then on October 9, 2007, Cuneo threw Alize 5 feet across a room and head first into a coffee table. Alize was hospitalized due to serious head injury and was not likely to survive the night. The treating physician believed the injuries resulted from abuse. Aliza died of brain injuries the next day.
Cuneo is now is serving a 32 year prison sentence for child abuse causing death. Her two biological children would write letters to the judge for sentencing saying Cuneo burned them with tongs she heated in the fire place and punished them by placing a television on top of them. Hartman was not the only one that warned child protection workers about what was going on in Cuneo’s home. Elena and Glenn Stom lived next door. Elena Stom said she called the El Paso County Department of Human Services to report how one of Cuneo’s biological children suffered a cut to the face that required stitches. Instead of taking the young child to a doctor, Cuneo took her to a veterinarian technician.
