Commited to the end of child abuse. . .
Alai'Ja Freedom Corbin
Paramedics responded to a medical call for an unconscious child. When police arrived, they realized the injuries 19 month old Alai'Ja sustained were not accidental. Alai'Ja was rushed to St. Lukes Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, in critical condition. Emergency surgery was performed on Alai'Ja after it was determined that her injuries were consistent with head trauma.
Alai'Ja's mother was not home when the abuse took place, though she was at the hospital with her. Jordan Everhart was angry because he wanted to play video games and Alai'Ja wouldn’t go to sleep. Alai'Ja was shaken with such force that she had fresh tissue damage under her arms, and to her feet, ankles and shins. Jordan Everhart, who had been convicted of first degree murder, was sentenced to life in prison.
