La'Keisha Roberson
Two year old La'Keisha Roberson fought for her life after being beaten senseless, sexually assaulted and kicked in the head, by her stepfather Paul Turner.
Turner confessed to the crimes and admitted having an anger control problem. La'Keisha poured water on a television, Turner said he grabbed La'Keisha and shook her violently. Turner told police that while changing La'Keisha diaper, a part of his body "made a mistake" and he had intercourse with the toddler. Turner said he ended the assault by kicking the child in the head, because she wouldn't wake up. Later,Turner brought severely injured La'Keisha to a nearby Wal-Mart to meet his wife. When the 18 yearold mother saw her daughter's condition, she called 911. The hospital called police. At first, hospital officials were told La'Keisha fell out of a chair, but her injuries did not fit with that story. On Sunday, May 22nd , La'Keisha was taken off life support and died.
